Factors Effecting the Safety of Flight:
There are three main factors that effect the safety of flight each time a pilot gets into an aircraft:
(1) You the pilot (2) Your aircraft (3) Weather conditions in which you are flying in.

YOU: The pilot:
Are you properly trained  and have knowledge of the aircraft you are flying?
Are you well rested and mentally prepared to go flying?
Are you distracted with other thoughts and issues?
Are you in good health and feel fit to fly?
Drink water and be hydrated before flying.
> Ultralight flying requires an attitude adjustement

Your aircraft:
Is your plane and engine properly maintained and flight worthy?
Have you checked your fuel level?
Check over your plane each time you land so you have no surprizes before the next time you want to fly.
ALWAYS do a full preflight inspection before you take-off.
> Ultralight aircraft preflight checklist

The Weather :
Have you checked the weather and know the conditions, wind directions and wind speeds in which you are flying in?
Are you flying in only suitable conditions for your abilities and skills?
New pilots should NEVER fly in wind speeds greater than 2 or 3 mph.

" when I was almost at 100 hours flight time, a retired military and airline pilot gave me some sage advice. "Bill" he said, " there are 3 times in a pilots life that they are dangerous, at 100 hours, because they think they are pretty good, but they are not yet, again at about 400 hours, because they think they have seen everything !...but flight is a cruel mistress, and they still have a lot to learn! " He stopped talking at that point. I waited a while and finally asked, "but when is the third time?" He answered, " well, pretty much any time after that! "
